| Ah...sex and the single dad. People announced it's got an exclusive of Clay Aiken outting himself hitting the stands tomorrow. The cover has him with his baby boy born to his 50-year old producer/friend after artificial insemination. He announced he is the sole parent. Ricky Martin had twins last month with a surrogate mom and no mention of a partner parent. We saw this type of arrangement with Michael Jackson and his ex who turned out to be a surrogate arrangement also. George Lucas adopted a bunch of kids as a single dad but to my knowledge they were not biologically his. More and more women opt for artificial insemination for single motherhood these days but it seems when men do, folks ask if he's gay/bi? What do you think? | Just recently, I read in a poll that Americans are losing faith due to our economy becoming like crap and yet our government is doing what it can, even though it is very little. What happened to all the patriotism? Sure, we had our ups and downs, but EVERY country has financial crisis. We didn't have it worser than the Soviet Union/Russia during their fall up until the late 1990's. Another article I read showed America becoming severely divided by political factions, mostly due to Obama and McCain campaigns. A bunch of arguments show up over who's better and I'm sick of all these ads and complaints. Also, just because lately, the Iranian president announced our "empire's" fall doesn't mean we got to say "Oh, vote Obama, he will talk hard with Mahmoud!" or "Vote McCain, he will hand Iran's word right back!" God, I hate the media and how Americans can be so naive. We need to be wise in the elections and stick together as a country! |

| Is anyone watching this? It's clear Ahmadinejad's statements are ridiculous. Is there any reason for America to hear him out? He just answered Larry's question on the Holocaust with..."Let's assume there was a Holocaust...and, if there was a Holocaust, where did it happen, in Europe or Palestine? If it happened in Europe, why not give them land in Europe? He just referred to Israel as an unwanted guest in the Middle East. Our only interest is for peace in the Middle East and he clearly is not interested in that so why do we listen to him? Please if anyone knows of a reason we should encourage him to think he deserves our recognition, please let me know. |

| Though I fully am against what the US did in Iraq and was proposing to do in Iran and North Korea, I also am surprised at nations like Iran who do not understand that the world economy has grown only because of the US. However much you may speak ill of the American Consumerism, the fact is that the US helped other nations grow because it needed to buy so much from others. So is the case with Oil. And the Oil Nations should really work with the US in trying to build a better method of delivery, consumption, and equal distribution across the world instead of going against it just because its dependent on their Oil. And the US should also help the case instead of trying to gain more ground by sheer use of military might. What do my reader friends here think? ******************************************** To all those who replied and those who just read. The US is also in dire need of some sensible consultation. It is trying to put its efforts and money in areas that least need them. There are millions out there in real need and in real danger of perishing. The US can still reverse all the damage to whetever extent and get every nation on the same side. Mind you, I am not saying 'on its side' but all nations on the same side. I can bet even hardened leaders in nations like Iran will respond positively. This will not and cannot happen overnight. It may take years and substantial change of attiude. Lets take a poll here and see how many of us believe what I have said can actually work. Lets present to ourselves decent remedies to these issues. While I'm sure in a few (or even many) cases, it's true, but have you ever stopped and thought that maybe they were just putting that out there because it's the one thing sure to cause public outrage, and also the one thing that is almost impossible to disprove? After all, innocent until proven guilty doesn't mean jack when it comes to child molestation, especially once the media steps in. | I live in Western North Carolina and my Aunt just waited an hour and a half for gasoline in her car. A lot of people are running out and when you see a gas truck you see a lot of people following it just to get some gas. Is it like this everywhere? I think when I got gas yesterday the price was 3.99 so overall the price isn't bad but the wait is and many business people can not get gas to go to work.. it's starting to get tough.. Glad to know it's not everywhere... They are saying that this was caused by the hurricanes but I just don't know. | I don't recall any nation ever being forced into submission by sanctions. Maybe Im missing one. To me, sanctions seem like they are what happens when a major power wants to invade a smaller nation, but can't. They then throw a fit and whip out sanctions on said smaller nation. Theres nothing less attractive than a super power throwing a tantrum. I guess since no one answered that means "no", sanctions are nothing more than a super power throwing a hissy-fit because they didnt get their way.
